date: 9 March 2012Radio Tonka playlist: pirate radio (live-) music & talkshows from Den Haag, Netherlands 1993-1995. “Zo Is Het”, “Datacowboy 2000”, “All Night Long”, “Bellen maar”, “Megatop”, and more (Kokus & Konijnenoot!).
The programs were mostly pre-recorded at home, on audio cassette, which were then broadcast a couple of hours later at the pirate radio station. Initially, the station was just a transmitter and a cassette player. To avoid having to listen to our recordings, we decided to go ‘live’ by connecting a mixer and a microphone to the transmitter – most of these broadcasts were never recorded.

2012 brings Rotterdam a new clubnight: Midlight. The first edition of the 18th of February in WORM will bring some of the notorious legends in electronic music, fresh new talent, combined with sculptural design and visuals.

Unit Moebius, the Dutch pioneer of acid, techno and house, made a huge impact on the global scene. With Aphex Twin as one of their biggest fans, this live performance will be, without any doubt something special you won’t like to miss.
Gerd can be defined as the houseguru of Rotterdam, but his releases on Clone and 4lux made him populair on dancefloors worldwide, causing many bodies to jack all night long.
Mark Du Mosh is a rising star with noted releases on quality labels like Moustache. Be sure to check out Gustav Goodstuff as well. As upcoming talent he already rocked places like Tresor Berlin, Studio K and de Vuig.
If that’s not enough, we proudly present the live techno band Distant Drummers. This relatively new formation, armed with analogue synths, live drums, a trumpet, a 808 and FXs, be sure to check out this unique and straight forward performance!
The foyer will be all about soundtracks, soundscapes, early jazz and world music. Be sure to expect some obscure vinyl from dedicated collectors Pametex, Mikael and Rivo.

Midlight is about sharing and supporting love for the deeper, more raw sides of electronic music. They work with live musicians, DJ’s with a refined taste, passionate believers & sculptural and visual artists.
For the past year, the Midlight Crew has been throwing gigs, shaping spaces and bringing underground quality and uplifting atmospheres at festivals, parties or squatted buildings.
